Winter Park, Colorado is an exciting place to vacation and many travelers look forward to exploring the Rocky Mountains and nearby Denver. The area also has excellent recreation, events, entertainment, and dining. Here are some of our favorite places in Winter Park to grab a bite.

Hernando’s Pizza Pub

Their slogan pretty much says it all — “life’s too short to eat bad pizza.” Their menu includes hand-tossed pizza, pub pasta, and appetizers such as salad and wings. They also have a full-service bar to quench your thirst. Hernando’s Pizza Pub is a staple in Winter Park, so you’ll be eating like the locals.

Deno’s Mountain Bistro

Since 1976, Deno’s Mountain Bistro has been a local tradition with famous steaks and delectable entrees. If you’ve already tried their steak (which is recommended by pretty much every visitor), branch out and try their lobster ravioli or Scottish salmon. They also have an impressive wine list!

Pepe’s Osaka Fishtaco Tequila Bar and Grill

After a long day of skiing, there is perhaps no better place to stop than Pepe’s Osaka Fishtaco. As their name suggests, they do fish tacos, and they do them really well. Their menu mixes Latin American cuisine with Asian fusion, and the result is unique and very tasty items. Their Mahi Mahi tacos and homemade margarita sour mix will blow you away.

Goodys Mountain Café & Creperie

Even if breakfast may not be the most important meal of the day, it might be our favorite. Goodys Mountain Café & Creperie moderately-priced breakfast joint doesn’t mess around. Locals and travelers alike sing praises of their crepes, but they have plenty of other options to choose from if they’re not your favorite, including Belgian Waffles and breakfast burritos. Their hot chocolate is perfect for unwinding after a day of hitting the slopes.

Idlewild Spirits Distillery

For those looking for a great bar atmosphere, Idlewild Spirits Distillery is worth a visit. Although their food menu is small, and their full-scale dinners are on the pricy side, their appetizers and truffle crab mac and cheese are great to nibble on. Try their Barrel Aged Gin or their Rocky Mountain Gold Rum while you eat.
