Having a fall wedding has become increasingly popular over the past few years. The weather is often much cooler and depending on where your wedding will take place, there may be some beautiful fall foliage. There will be plenty of fall-themed decors to use and lots of gorgeous colors to incorporate. One of the most scenic states that comes to mind when thinking about fall weddings is Vermont. In southern Vermont, where it won’t be as cold as the north, you’ll get to experience the beauty of fall foliage at your wedding. Here are some ideas to help plan a fall wedding in southern Vermont.

Currently, one of the biggest trends in fall weddings in southern Vermont is everything rustic. This includes barn weddings, but can also be done at any venue by utilizing rustic decor. Another current trend in Vermont is a wedding near the mountains with the fall foliage. Southern Vermont has plenty of options to choose from for venues including the city and countryside. Southern Vermont is the perfect place to hold a rustic wedding. But even if your event isn’t being held in a barn, rustic decor can be included by using farm tables or bringing in antiques. Bringing in seasonal fall items, such as pumpkins is always a popular decor item as well. Or try in-season, local produce to decorate with.

Southern Vermont is known for many popular foods, many of which will seamlessly fit into a fall wedding. Maple is a Vermont staple- give out bottles of maple syrup or candies for a thank you gift. Don’t forget about Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, which is delicious any time of the year. Be sure to incorporate locally-sourced food into your wedding menus as well.

Of course, there is color abound during the fall season. Pull the bright fall colors into your wedding linens and decor. Oranges, greens, yellows, and reds are always popular, but purples and blues have also been a popular fall wedding trend lately.
