Nashville is an extremely popular town that is known to have some of the USA’s most exceptional music, concerts, food, cocktails, and beer. Music City USA wouldn’t be complete without some amazing concert venues. Here are our picks for the best concert venues in Nashville.

Ryman Auditorium

This Downtown historic “Mother Church of Country Music” is a place where bluegrass was born, where country music found an appreciative audience, where Johnny Cash and June Carter met, and where countless careers began.

The Grand Ole Opry began there in 1943 and welcomed such big names as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Marty Robbins, Patsy Cline and others for 31 years. In the early 1970s, the Opry changed venues, and the Ryman sat neglected and was facing demolition. However, the city of Nashville fought for it and spearheaded a complete renovation in the 1990s, thereby saving this important and much-loved heritage site.

Mercy Lounge

This cozy club, which opened in January 2003, is only half a mile from downtown on the historic Cannery Row. It is nationally known to feature not only top acts but also for introducing and showcasing the best in locally-favored and up-and-coming bands. The building houses the main Mercy Lounge with its standing room capacity of 500, the Cannery Ballroom with a 1,000-person capacity and room for elaborate stage productions, the High Watt that is a smaller room for catching local acts, and a huge bar.

The massive structure was built in 1883 originally as a flour mill and over the years became a place to grind coffee, a company that did food processing, a restaurant, and then a country music theater. Past popular performers included Adele, Bon Jovi, The White Stripes, Chris Stapleton, Emmy Lou Harris, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Meghan Trainor, Lenny Kravitz, Greg Allman, and a long list of others.

The Station Inn at The Gulch

Since the 1970s, the historic and award-winning Station Inn has been in The Gulch, a LEED Certified community right in the heart of Nashville on the southwest border of the Central Business District. It is a trendy neighborhood and a popular destination. If you’re looking for places to stay in Nashville, TN, The Gulch is a unique place to find a vacation rental or hotel to stay at. The Station Inn is deemed “the place” for bluegrass, jazz, and country music celebrities such as Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and Alison Krauss along with local and touring acts.
