Alabama boasts some of the most stunning beaches in the United States. Even though they are not located in the more well-known state of Florida, these beaches are world-class in their own rights. Fort Morgan, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores offer miles of diamond white sand that feels like silk between your toes. The waters are clear and warm from the Gulf of Mexico. Activities like fishing, diving, parasailing and more are all possibilities in these areas. So how do you decide which beach is right for you? Here are some differences between these gorgeous places.

Fort Morgan
History lovers will enjoy Fort Morgan. Look out over the bay from the top of the fort. Imagine Union and Confederate soldiers battling for dominion of the bay. Take a tour with uniformed guides during the summer to see how Civil War soldiers lived. Check out the museum. Stroll over the grounds to see cannons, the beautiful arched stone-work of the fort and sweeping views of the ocean. Imagine how soldiers and prisoners must have felt inside those cold stone walls.

Orange Beach
Combine crystal white sands, museums like the Orange Beach Indian and Sea Museum, and back-country trail systems for a unique vacation experience. Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail System allows you to explore wide paved trails, rest on plenty of benches, and see Orange Beach wildlife like alligators, snakes and turtles as you jog or walk the trail. Take your book and sit your chair on the beach and enjoy the waves of Orange Beach. Look for sharks teeth or build sand castles. When you get hungry there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. For the freshest seafood, try Lartigue’s Fresh Seafood take-out. Boxes of steamed shrimp and crabs, freshly caught, are best enjoyed with an ocean view.

Gulf Shores
People who plan a beach vacation want the beach. Gulf Shores has miles of gorgeous beach. Gulf State Park offers undeveloped beach with dunes, open pavilions, plenty of sea oats and picnic tables. Play beach volleyball or get your tan on. The pier has great fishing. Catch tuna, clean it at one of the cleaning stations, and have it for dinner. Watch the anglers, the sea gulls, and the sunsets on the pier. Gulf Shores Public Beach has free parking, plenty of shells, and clean sands and water.

Come and experience the beautiful Alabama Beaches. No matter which beach you stay at we guarantee you’ll have a great time. Sunset Properties offers vacation rental homes and condos at all three beaches, so make sure to check them out when looking for places to stay in the area for your vacation.
